Reduce the size of a photo without uploading it
Make your photos lighter for an e-mail, an online form or a website: resizing and compression in your browser. Free, in batches, and the GPS location hidden in your photos is stripped along the way.
Your files never leave your device. Everything happens in your browser: they are not sent to us or to anyone else. Check it yourself.

How to reduce the size of a photo
- Drop one or more photos into the box, or click it to choose them.
- The tool shrinks them at once and shows the size before and after.
- Adjust the size and quality if needed: the result updates by itself.
- Download the images one by one, or all together in a ZIP file.
Which settings to choose
- For an e-mail: 1,920 px, quality 80. A 5 MB photo usually drops below 500 KB, with no visible difference on screen.
- For an official form limited to 1 or 2 MB: 1,600 px, quality 75. The document stays perfectly readable.
- For a website: 1,280 to 1,920 px, in WebP format, much lighter than JPG at equal quality.
- For printing: keep the original. A good print needs every pixel.
Resizing reduces the number of pixels, compressing reduces the space each one takes. Together they give the biggest savings: a phone photo is often 4,000 pixels wide, when a computer screen shows fewer than 2,000.
What your photos reveal without you knowing
A photo taken with a phone contains, besides the image, an invisible data sheet: the device model, the date and time it was taken, and very often the exact GPS location of where it was taken. Posted or sent as it is, a photo of your garden tells people where you live.
The images produced by this tool are redrawn pixel by pixel: they no longer contain any of that information. That is deliberate, but be aware: the date the photo was taken disappears too. Keep your originals for your albums.
Why your photos stay with you
The usual compression websites receive your photos on their servers. Here, the reduction is done by your browser, on your device: your family photos are sent nowhere.
And to keep your documents somewhere safe?
These tools are free and will stay free. Our trade is hosting files, photos and e-mail on our own servers, in Frontenex, Savoie, France: not with an American giant, not with a rented host. When you call, the person who runs the machines is the one who answers.
The free plan gives you 5 GB of storage and an e-mail address, with no credit card.

Will the difference show?
Not on screen with the recommended settings: 1,920 pixels and a quality of 80 are enough for a photo to look sharp on a computer or a phone. The difference only shows when zooming in very far, or in a large print.
Why is the reduced image sometimes heavier than the original?
It happens when the original was already heavily compressed, or when a simple PNG image (a logo, a screenshot) is converted to JPG. The tool tells you so: in that case, keep the original.
Is the GPS location really removed?
Yes. The images produced are redrawn pixel by pixel and no longer contain any metadata: no GPS location, no device model, no date taken.
How many photos at once?
As many as you like. They are processed one after the other, and the Download all button gathers them in a single ZIP file.
What about iPhone photos in HEIC format?
They work in Safari, which can read this format, and come out as JPG (Safari cannot produce WebP). Chrome and Firefox on Windows cannot read it yet.
