What is different from the usual online tools
Most websites that merge PDFs or compress images work the same way: you upload your file to their servers, it is processed there, and the result is sent back to you. They usually promise to delete your documents after a few hours. You have no way of checking.
Our tools do the work in your browser, with the power of your own device. The file is read where it is, transformed in memory, and the result is handed straight back to you. There is nothing for us to delete, since your files never reach us.
That matters for the documents people handle most often with this kind of tool: a rental or loan application means an ID card, three payslips and a tax notice. Exactly what you should not hand over to anyone.

A tool that works without the Internet needs no server to process your files. To go further, the Network tab of your browser developer tools (F12 key) shows every exchange with the outside world: while you use the tool, only one appears, named “a-servi” (French for “was used”), and it carries nothing but the tool’s name. Not your file, not its name. And the code can be read by anyone, with nothing hidden.

ArkiaSuite hosts files, photos and e-mail on its own servers, in Savoie, France. These tools are our way of showing what we mean by respecting your data: touching it as little as possible. They are free, with no sign-up, no ads and no watermark on your documents, and they will stay that way, whether or not you ever become a customer.

Are these tools really free?
Yes: no sign-up, no usage limit and no watermark added to your documents. They cost us almost nothing to run, since your own device does the work.
Are there ads or trackers?
No. No ads, no cookies, no third-party audience measurement. We only count how often each tool is used: when you take a result away, the page tells our server that the tool was used, once per visit, with nothing but its name. Like any web server, ours records the pages requested, as stated in our privacy policy; it never sees your files, which never reach it.
Do the tools work without an Internet connection?
Yes, once the page has loaded. It is in fact the best proof that your files go nowhere: cut the Internet and use the tool.
Can I use them on a phone?
Yes, from the browser of an Android phone or an iPhone, with nothing to install. The files produced land in your downloads folder. An older device may simply be slower with very large files.
And to keep your documents somewhere safe?
These tools are free and will stay free. Our trade is hosting files, photos and e-mail on our own servers, in Frontenex, Savoie, France: not with an American giant, not with a rented host. When you call, the person who runs the machines is the one who answers.
