Merge PDFs without uploading them anywhere

How to merge PDFs
- Drop your PDF files into the box, or click it to choose them. You can add as many as you like, in several goes.
- Put them in the order you want with the arrows: the first in the list opens the final document.
- If you only want to keep some pages of a file, enter them in its Pages box.
- Click Merge PDFs: the combined document downloads straight away.
Extract, reorder or reverse pages
The Pages box of each file accepts page numbers and ranges, separated by commas. Left empty, it keeps the whole document.
1-3, 5: pages 1, 2, 3 and 5.8-: from page 8 to the end.2, 1, 3: the first three pages, in that order.10-1: the first ten pages, from last to first. Handy for a document scanned the wrong way round.
With a single file, the tool therefore extracts pages from a PDF: drop it, enter the pages to keep, and click Create the PDF.
Why your documents stay with you
People rarely merge harmless PDFs. A rental application, a loan request, a pension file: ID card, payslips, tax notice, bank statements. Most PDF tool websites receive these documents on their servers to process them, promising to delete them afterwards.
Here, the merging is done by your browser, on your device. Pages are copied as they are from one file to the other: they are neither re-printed nor re-compressed. Quality is therefore untouched, and the text stays selectable. The tool relies on pdf-lib, a free software library, which we serve ourselves rather than from a third-party service that would see your address go by.
And to keep your documents somewhere safe?
These tools are free and will stay free. Our trade is hosting files, photos and e-mail on our own servers, in Frontenex, Savoie, France: not with an American giant, not with a rented host. When you call, the person who runs the machines is the one who answers.

Is it really free and unlimited?
Yes: no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files set by us. The only limit is the memory of your device. A recent computer merges dozens of documents without trouble; an older phone may struggle with very large files.
Is the quality of the pages preserved?
Yes. Pages are copied as they are, without being re-printed or re-compressed: text stays sharp and selectable, images keep their resolution. On the other hand, bookmarks (the outline shown at the side) and fillable form fields are not carried over into the merged document.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
No. The tool says so and skips that file. If you are entitled to do so, open it with its password, then use the Print function of your PDF reader and choose the Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF printer: you will get an unprotected copy that you can merge.
How do I extract just a few pages from a PDF?
Drop the file on its own, then type the pages to keep in its Pages box, for example 2-4, 7. Click Create the PDF: you get a new document containing only those pages, and the original is left untouched.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in the browser of an Android phone or an iPhone, with no app to install. The merged PDF lands in your downloads, or in the Files app on iPhone.
