How do I forward my Gmail e-mails to ArkiaMail?

Gmail forwards a copy of each new message. It first asks you to confirm your ArkiaMail address, with a message that you open in ArkiaSuite.

Step by step

  1. On a computer, open Gmail. At the top right, click the Paramètres (Settings) gear, then Voir tous les paramètres (See all settings).

  2. Open the Transfert et POP/IMAP (Forwarding and POP/IMAP) tab, then click Ajouter une adresse de transfert (Add a forwarding address).

  3. Type your ArkiaMail address, then click Suivant (Next), Continuer (Continue) and OK.

  4. In ArkiaSuite, open the confirmation message that Google has just sent to your ArkiaMail address, and click its link.

  5. Go back to Gmail’s settings and refresh the page. In Transfert (Forwarding), choose Transférer une copie des messages reçus à (Forward a copy of incoming mail to), and keep Gmail’s copy.

  6. At the bottom of the page, click Enregistrer les modifications (Save changes).

Good to know

  • Messages that Gmail takes for spam are not forwarded: take a look at its Spam folder from time to time.
  • During the first week, Gmail shows a reminder that forwarding is on: that’s normal.
  • This setting is made in Gmail on a computer, in a web browser.
  • To copy your old e-mails into ArkiaMail, do it yourself in the app: Paramètres (Settings) (on a phone, Réglages (Settings)), Messagerie (Mail), Récupérer mes anciens mails (Bring over my old e-mails). Step by step.
