Is ArkiaSuite installed on this computer? It is still open: click its red “A” icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, or simply close this tab.

On a phone? The app is still open: go back to it from your list of open apps, or tap its “A” icon.

Using ArkiaSuite in your browser? Back to ArkiaSuite

I’m changing my e-mail address: where do I start?

There are two different things: forwarding new e-mails to ArkiaMail, and getting back the old ones. Forwarding is set up with your old provider, in a few minutes.

The recommended steps

  1. First open your ArkiaMail mailbox in ArkiaSuite: some providers (Gmail, Yahoo) send a confirmation message there.

  2. With your old provider, turn on forwarding to your ArkiaMail address: choose its page below.

  3. Check that it works: from another address (a relative’s, for example), send an e-mail to your old address. It should arrive in your ArkiaMail mailbox, in ArkiaSuite.

  4. Tell your contacts about your new address: one e-mail to everyone, and the new address in your signature.

  5. Keep the old mailbox open for a few months: e-mails from latecomers will keep arriving at ArkiaMail. Also check its spam folder from time to time: with Gmail, for example, spam is not forwarded.

Good to know

  • Forwarding: new e-mails sent to the old address also arrive at ArkiaMail. The old ones stay where they are.
  • Bringing over your history: copying the e-mails you have already received into ArkiaMail. To copy your old e-mails into ArkiaMail, do it yourself in the app: Paramètres (Settings) (on a phone, Réglages (Settings)), Messagerie (Mail), Récupérer mes anciens mails (Bring over my old e-mails). Step by step.
  • When you reply from ArkiaSuite, the reply goes out from your ArkiaMail address: the people you write to learn your new address as you go.
  • Cancelling your internet subscription (your “box”)? Set up forwarding first: with Orange, it is no longer possible once the contract is cancelled.
  • Some providers don’t forward e-mails, or only with a paid subscription (La Poste, Yahoo): their page explains what to do instead.
