How do I share a file with someone?

Sharing means giving someone a link to open your file or folder, even if they don’t have ArkiaSuite.

The demonstration (25 seconds), without sound: read the captions under the picture (in French, like the app). The people and addresses are made up.

Step by step

  1. In Cloud, right-click the file or folder, then click Partager… (Share…).

  2. In Partager par (Share via), leave Lien (Link) selected.

  3. In Droits (Permissions), choose Lecture seule (Read-only) (people can view and download), Modification (Editing) (people can make changes) or, for a folder, Dépôt de fichiers (File drop) (people can only drop files into it).

  4. If you like, add a Mot de passe (Password) and an Expire le (Expires on) date. Both are optional.

  5. Click Créer le lien (Create link), then Copier le lien (Copy link). Paste it into a message (Ctrl + V) to send it.

Good to know

  • Compte ArkiaCloud (ArkiaCloud account) shares with someone who also has an account: type their exact address.
  • A link with Dépôt de fichiers (File drop) is handy for receiving photos or documents from someone: they drop them in, without seeing the rest.
