How do I back up a folder from my PC to the Cloud automatically?

Sync watches a folder on your PC (“Documents”, “Desktop”…) and always keeps an up-to-date copy of it in the Cloud, without you having to think about it.

Step by step

  1. In Cloud, in the left column, under Corbeille (Trash), click Synchroniser (Sync).

  2. The Synchroniser mes dossiers (Sync my folders) window opens. Click Ajouter un dossier (Add a folder) and choose the folder on your PC.

  3. ArkiaSuite sends everything in it, then each new file or change, as it happens.

  4. In the Cloud, this folder shows up in Dossiers synchronisés (Synced folders), with a « Synchronisé avec » (Synced with) badge and the name of your PC.

Good to know

  • On the computer only (installed app).
  • The Garder ces dossiers à jour sur ArkiaCloud (Keep these folders up to date on ArkiaCloud) box pauses all syncing, or starts it again. Synchroniser maintenant (Sync now) runs a sync right away.
  • Hidden system files (like “.DS_Store” on a Mac) are not sent.
