How do I read my messages?

Your messages arrive in the Boîte de réception (Inbox). New ones are in bold, with a red dot.

The demonstration (15 seconds), without sound: read the captions under the picture (in French, like the app). The people and addresses are made up.

Step by step

  1. Click Mail in the left-hand column.

  2. In the middle is the list of messages, newest at the top. The ones you haven’t read are in bold.

  3. Click a message: it opens in full on the right. At the top of the message, De (From), À (To), Cc (and Cci (Bcc) on messages you sent) show who wrote it and to whom. A long list is folded up: « et 12 autres » (and 12 others) unfolds it.

  4. If there are several messages in the same conversation, the older ones are folded up: click a name to unfold that message.

  5. A message has images you can’t see? Click Afficher les images (Show images).

Good to know

  • Why images are hidden: an image coming from the Internet tells the sender that you opened their message. You decide, message by message.
  • A link in a message opens in your web browser, never inside ArkiaSuite.
  • At the bottom of the list, Afficher les messages plus anciens (Show older messages) goes further back in time.
  • The number next to a folder counts its unread messages. Envoyés (Sent), Brouillons (Drafts), Corbeille (Trash) and Indésirables (Junk) don’t show one: that isn’t mail waiting to be read.
